Calling all writers!

Here’s your chance to get your name in print! We’d be delighted to receive your submissions for inclusion and publishing in Hypnotherapy Today. We welcome contributions from all members, including our students.

What can I send in for publishing?

Anything that you feel might be of interest to your AfSFH colleagues! This can include:

  • Your journey into hypnotherapy.
  • Your experiences training or practising.
  • Articles covering a particular topic, scientific area or aspect of mental health.
  • Aspects of supervision and how its helped you.
  • Case studies about a particular area SFH has helped with.
  • Book reviews.
  • Articles about events you’ve attended or presented at…and lots more!

If relevant to the topic, please also try and include any references with your work (e.g. website addresses, journal or book publication references etc.), so that readers can find out more information.

If writing about specific case studies, please ensure you respect client confidentiality by anonymising any client information (enough so that they wouldn’t be able to identify themselves if they read the article) or that you receive written permission from a client if you want to include an aspect of their therapy.

How long does my article have to be?

Ideally, all submissions need to be between 1 and 4 pages of typed A4 in length (around 500-1,800 words). The editorial team will be on hand to help you streamline content if needed, and make sure that we can allow sufficient space for pictures, graphics and a brief bio about you!

Will my work be published?

We can’t promise to publish everything that gets sent in, and sometimes we are constricted by available space in the journal. However, we will always consider everything that is sent and if we don’t have space in one issue, we may reserve it for the next edition!

What’s in it for me?!

As well as the enviable kudos of being able to say your work has been published in Hypnotherapy Today (something to proudly advertise to clients – on your website, blogs or even just to have a nice copy displayed in your therapy room?!), if your work is selected and published, you will also receive a lovely £10 gift voucher from us, as a little ‘thank you!’ for your efforts!

Get started!

So, if you have something you’d like to be considered for publication, then please do get in touch – we’d be happy to answer any questions.

You can email your ideas, questions and articles to: comms@afsfh.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!
