About Good Thinking Hypnotherapy

I am a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and the founder of Good Thinking Hypnotherapy. I provide a collaborative, forward-looking therapeutic space for adults who want to make meaningful, positive changes in their lives.

I hold the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH), awarded by the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) in Edinburgh. My approach combines solution-focused therapy with hypnotherapy, incorporating relaxation and visualisation techniques alongside a compassionate, person-centred approach.

Rather than focusing in detail on past difficulties, sessions focus on what you would like to be different and what is already working well in your life. Together, we identify your strengths, clarify realistic goals, and develop practical steps towards the changes you want to make. Hypnotherapy can support a state of focused relaxation, helping you to reflect more clearly, reduce stress, and build a more helpful perspective.

I work with adults one-to-one, both in person in Edinburgh and online with clients in the UK and internationally. I also work with organisations and businesses, offering Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and psychological wellbeing support tailored to their needs.

Areas I commonly support include:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Low mood and motivation

  • IBS and chronic pain
  • Phobias and anxiety-related difficulties

  • Performance, including work, study, and sporting performance

  • Life transitions and personal goals

I am registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I work in accordance with professional, ethical, and data-protection standards, and maintain appropriate insurance, supervision, continuing professional development, and secure client records.

My aim is to provide a safe, respectful, and practical space in which clients can focus on their strengths, regain a sense of direction, and make sustainable positive changes at their own pace.

Training & Accreditation

I hold a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH), awarded by the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) in Edinburgh. This practice-based training integrates solution-focused approaches with principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), neuroscience, and therapeutic hypnosis.

I also hold a Master’s degree in Genetic Counselling, which provided training in person-centred, non-directive care, empathetic communication, confidentiality, safeguarding, and working sensitively with individuals and families during difficult or uncertain times.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and bring experience of teaching, education development, pastoral care, and student support. This background has developed my ability to communicate clearly, build rapport, adapt to individual needs, and create a calm, supportive environment.

I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH). I maintain appropriate professional insurance, a PVG disclosure, clinical supervision, and continuing professional development.
